Regency tortoise shell double serpentine tea caddy. The box has silver stringing, name plate and escutcheon and stands on four Tagua nut feet. The interior top lid is faced with ivory and lined with the original red velvet. The double compartment within has two matched lids with hand carved mother-of-pearl knobs. The tea compartments retain much of its original tin lining. [7" x 4.5" x 5" H] England, c.1820.
